“Founded in 1857, Borsalino has been a staple of the hat-making world for over 160 years. The company, based in Italy, was founded by Giuseppe Borsalino who studied hat-making in France where he earned the title of "Master Hatter". He brought these skills back to Alessandria where he founded Borsalino. Over the next century the company would grow. By the time of the First World War Borsalino was producing nearly 2 Million hats every year. In 1970 Borsalino collaborated on the movie Borsalino which helped make Borsalino's name synonymous with luxury fedoras. To this day Borsalino continues to produce the highest quality hats as one of the world's top luxury brand.
The underlying style and craftsmanship that have symbolized Borsalino Hats since its founding remain unchanged. A Borsalino truly is the Hat of Hats.”
“Borsalino manufacturing has remained faithful to a production process that represents the cultural values of the company, handed down from generation to generation. The hats continue to be produced in Alessandria by combining industrial technology and the spirit craftsmanship. The felt models, created from fur fibers, require more than 50 manual steps and seven weeks of work to create; the straw models, which are hand twisted, can take up to 6 months for a single hat.” (Source; WIkipedia)
